Produksi iPod Klasik Dihentikan

Tanpa banyak yang tahu, Apple telah menghentikan produksi iPod klasik sejak bulan lalu.

Dilansir dari Theverge, Selasa (28/10/2014), penghentian itu tepat pada peringatan ulang tahun ke-13 MP3 player ikonik tersebut.

CEO Apple Tim Cook menjelaskan, alasan perusahaan memutuskan mengesampingkan perangkat revolusioner ini dan tidak diproduksi kembali.

Cook, berbicara pada WSJD secara langsung. Dia mengatakan, bahwa Apple tidak lagi memiliki akses ke komponen yang diperlukan untuk membangun iPod klasik 160GB.

Cook menjelaskan, jika ingin meneruskan produksinya, perusahaan harus berhadapan dengan kelangkaan komponen yang dibutuhkan. Melihat kondisi ini, Apple memutuskan tidak mendesain ulang perangkat klasik tersebut.
